WORKSHOP ON GAME THEORY(06/04/2013)

Game theory is “the study of mathematical models of conflict and cooperation between intelligent rational decision-makers” (Myerson, 1991).

Two-day workshop on game theory facilitated by Senior Fulbrighter - Prof Geoff Jehle – was carried out at Haiphong Private University, from 5th to 6th April.  Game theory is “the study of mathematical models of conflict and cooperation between intelligent rational decision-makers” (Myerson, 1991).  Despite its wide application in economics, political science, psychology and biology, little is known about this theory in Vietnam. To help HPU staff and students understand game theory and more importantly apply this theory in the field of economics, the university invited Prof Geoff Jehle, one of the leading economists in United States, to facilitate the workshop. Prof Jehle is currently teaching at Hanoi Foreign Trade University, where he serves as Senior Fulbrighter 2012-1013. His affiliations in the States include Vassar College and Columbia University.
